My background is in education- I have taught in the elementary setting for the past 9 years here in Texas as well as in Japan . But most importantly I am a proud mother of 2 children, ages 6 and 4. I am happy to call Austin home with my kids and husband of 11 years, Tommy.

My daughter was born in a hospital in Japan, and even though things

went fairly smoothly, I had a strong desire to have a natural birth with my second child outside of the hospital setting. However, the thought was scary and intimidating. My midwife suggested I take the HypnoBirthing® course, and afterwards I felt like I had the knowledge, strength, and tools that would help me have the natural and peaceful birth I envisioned. My labor and birth turned out to be an amazing experience.  I am still amazed that I gave birth twice but had two polar opposite experiences.  I believe it is a testament to the power of the mind and I have been praising the HypnoBirthing® concepts ever since- to everyone I know!

I have been a Certified HypnoBirthing® Educator since 2008, and have taught over 100 couples from all walks of life in the Austin area. In 2009 I added Birth Doula to my resume which has added even more awe and joy to my view of women and the birthing process. My goal is to share this program and philosophy with families in hopes that they, too will have a life-changing experience.  My classes are small and intimate which helps facilitate discussion as well as a warm and friendly atmosphere.  I draw from my passion for teaching as well as my own personal experiences to empower women to have the amazing, peaceful birth that is every woman's birthright.
